Details:
I was excited to image Comet C/2021 A1 (Leonard) in the evening sky on December 14, 2021. I was barely able to pick out the comet in the constellation Scutum. The comet looks great and certainly appears brighter than the neighboring stars. The image was made of twenty eight 3.2 second exposures taken with a Canon 80D and a Canon 100 mm f/2 lens (ISO 400, f/5). The sequence of exposures was started at 5:47 pm EDT which was about an hour after sunset at my home at 40 degrees north latitude.
