Details:
After a long abstinence from the camera (3 weeks due to very bad weather) yesterday morning moon and Mars with 3.7 ° distance. Extremely clear and cold air (-2 ° C) ensured a perfect view to the horizon. The crescent moon, 39.5 hours before new moon and appeared strongly distorted by layers of air at different temperatures, was visible from the first moment of its rise above the horizon. Mars shines with +1.6 mag above on the right. Taken on the Opitz hill near Tharandt in Saxony. The place in the picture is Rabenau, on the left the Lerchenberg hill near Börnchen, over Rabenau the Wilisch hill and the Quohrener Kipse, two old tertiary volcanoes. Canon EOS 6D + Pentacon 4/200 (F5.6), ISO 400, 1.6s, 06:42 a.m. CET
