Details:
We are probably in the wake of last night's CME, however it still produced some very bright and beautiful northern lights up here in Utsjoki! I was heading to bed just before 11 PM after a busy week with 10 guests at our resorts, and a 5 AM airport run to bring them on their way home. Our permanent live stream showed a very cloudy northern sky, however the whole screen looked so green that I decided to go take a look outside. The southern part of the sky was bright green! I quickly grabbed my camera (always near the door) and my jacket (it's still -25°C here) and ran to the road behind the resort to snap these few shots. The first 2 photos are looking towards East, the last 2 photos are looking towards West, so as you can see, the auroras were mostly in the southern part of the sky!
