Details:
Last night, for the 3rd night in a row, the solar wind was very slow (< 400 km/s last night!), and nevertheless we saw breathtaking auroras up here in Utsjoki! For a while, the Auroras even appeared in the southern direction. Despite space weather being considered "quiet" these days, when Bz stayed negative for hours on end, I guess it was enough to trigger bright northern lights at our latitude. Waiting for the coronal hole solar wind stream now, hopefully we see even brighter lights!
