Details:
I was taking photos of a Christmas tree in my back garden, on a misty morning. On a whim, I turned the camera (an old Panasonic bridge camera, handheld, no filters, LCD viewfinder so no risk of getting blinded!) to the sky and snapped the sun. It was lucky I did - as the sunspots show up perfectly well. Just goes to show you don't need fancy equipment to observe them, just a bit of luck with the weather!
