Details:
On Friday 17th of September we were treated to a really good display of Northern lights here in Ireland. It has been a long time since I seen a show as good as this one. Even with strong Moon light the bands and Beams of the Aurora were easily visible to the unaided dark adapted eye. Although the Aurora caught my full attention I also noticed the Holy Light or 'heiligenschein in the grass. It is the bright glow around the camera's shadow in this photo. This glow was very evident around the shadow of my own head and from my perspective, and I say that as even if you have someone standing beside you they will only see the glow around their head as it is from their perspective.
