Details:
Here's a record of recent geomagnetic activity including three pulses on the 6th, 7th and 8th. These appear to arise from a fluctuating southerly oriented interplanetary magnetic field and gusty solar wind. The peak on the 6th has no obvious cause considering DSCOVR data observed over the same timeframe. This peak is also present in geomagnetic data available from Intermagnet.org ruling out a local anomoly.
