Details:
After observing an unusually bright prominence on the sun this afternoon and seeing it gradually disappear within 2 hours I was packing my solar scope away when clouds rolled in. These clouds then made their own show of a large bright circle around the sun in the late afternoon. It lasted about half an hour before the clouds dispersed. Photographed with a Canon 6D MkI at 1/500s f/16 ISO100
