Details:
Auroras don't come much more subtle than this, with a full moon and less than 4 weeks to the summer solstice, I always knew it was going to be a struggle to catch anything much. Still, it was an enjoyable night on the Loch of Lintrathen, with plenty of wildlife, including herons, jumping trout and numerous bats skimming across the water. This is the closest I've caught the aurora to the solstice from this far north, but this wasn't that strong a display (kp4), so I'm sure it’s only a matter of time before I catch one on the solstice itself, a G4 or 5 should be strong enough.
Taken at around 0005 UTC with a Canon 6d, Samyang 35mm lens.
