Details:
A demonstration of atmospheric dispersion while Sirius, the Dog Star and brightest star in the sky, sets behind distant mountains in a May evening's twilight sky. Five images of Sirius are broken up into rainbows of colors with blues and greens on top and oranges and reds on the bottom. Meanwhile, scintillation (twinkling) squeezes and stretches each "star" image into a different size and shape.
