Details:
Nova V1405 has put on a nice show in the early morning sky. It held at around mag 7.4 for some weeks and then suddenly brightened on May 6th and to mag 5.4 by May 8th. This peak brightness was a transient peak and the nova has returned to mag 7.4 by May 19th. This photo was captured on May 18th using the 150 mm T02 refractor of iTelescope in Mayhill NM. The inset to the right shows the nova's position. At its peak of mag 5.4 this was the brightest nova since 2013.
