Details:
"The Power of One" May 12th (9:17 p.m. EDT) was a good opportunity to view a One-day Old Moon and many other things in the evening twilight. Through the serendipitous nature of celestial mechanics, this image captures the waxing crescent Moon at 1.3% illumination, at 1.1 days old (past New Moon) and 1 degree (14’) of angular separation from Venus. I was south of Peterborough, Ontario to get this (cropped) image using a Canon 60D on tripod with a Canon 18-200mm lense (ISO 800, f/5.6, 1/8 sec. exp.)
