The young crescent moon, 29.7 hr or 1.24 days old, was about a degree from Venus when this image of them was captured at 8:41 pm EDT on May 12, 2021. Taken with a Canon EOS RP mirrorless digital camera and a Canon 400 mm f/5.6L telephoto lens on a fixed tripod. Exposed 1/320 second at f/5.6, ISO 12,800, daylight white balance; minimally processed and uncropped.
