Details:
The Tianhe-1 Space Station Module and the Long March Rocket Body (CZ-5B R/B) continue to make impressive passes over Iowa. Here are the passes this morning over Marion, Iowa at 3:57am 4:45am CDT, respectively. Current estimates indicate the out of control rocket body will reenter Earth's atmosphere around May 8th or 9th.The time-lapse images of the satellites are composites of several stacked images of 10 seconds each. In the case of the CZ-5B rocket body, it is tumbling or rotating out of control. This motion causes it to flare 5 times every 10 seconds due sunlight reflecting off its surface.
Images captured with a Canon 60Da camera, Sigma 17-50mm lens @ 21mm, ISO 400, f/3.5, 10 second exposures (stacked).
