Details:
I knew that in theory, the season was over for us here in Inari and Utsjoki at about 69°N of latitude. But I also knew that with a strong display of northern lights, we could still hope to see something.
When around 8 PM local time (1:15 hour before sunset) I realised that Bz would remain around -10 for a long time, I decided to go "all in" and find myself a nice cloudless spot for a very last show this season.
And it worked! The auroras were visible mostly in the southern part of the sky because they were that strong, which turned out well for us because it's also the darkest part of the sky!
Best of all: I streamed this live on Youtube for the whole world to see!
The northern lights also managed to beat the twilight in the north, as you can see in one of my pictures here.
Never had I dreamt to shoot some Auroras in the early hours of 17 April here at 69°N! What a night!
