Details:
I captured Asteroid 2021 GW4 on April 11 2021 from 10:56 to 11:16 pm Eastern Daylight Saving Time as it zipped by Earth at 30,000 km/h and about 9 hours before it came close at 20,000 km from the surface of Earth. 4 exposure of 5 minutes shows the trail that it left in only 20 minutes. This is a wide angle shot with a Nikon D90 camera and a 18-105mm zoom lens set at 18mm, f/3.5 and ISO 1600. Tracking with a iOptron SkyGuider Pro. The trail is very dim as the asteroid is only about 16 feet in diameter and was about magnitude 17 at the time of this capture. This wide field show constellation Leo and covers about 70 degrees wide.
