Details:
I really thought that the previous night would be the last of the aurora season - after all, we need a combination of strong enough northern lights in a very tight time window in order to be able to see anything.
With more average solar wind data tonight compared to last night, I did not expect much. But we witnessed a wonderful show nonetheless! And the show lasted almost non stop from 11:45 PM to 2:30 AM, when the sun crosses -10° under the horizon. Twilight is quite bright even between those times, but the northern lights managed to win again!
Tomorrow night will still be clear, and in theory, we can still see northern lights then - hoping for stronger lights exactly between local midnight and 2 AM!
