Mars Invasion !
On March 3, Mars closely approached the Pleiades and nearby Hyades open clusters. With Mars and Aldebaran a close match in color and brightness, the overall impression is one of two armies approaching for battle. Of note, in this very dusty region of Taurus, the two clusters are at the end of relatively dust free zones. The V-shaped arrangement of the Hyades are the "horns" of Taurus the Bull, and show well in this image.
Image acquired using Star Adventurer star tracker carrying a Canon 450D camera and a 50 mm, f1.8 lens, at ISO 1600. The image is a digital composite of 41 subframes of 120s , for a total integration time of 82 minutes.
