This is what the G2 geomagnetic storm looked like on my magnetometer here in the UK. My readings went crazy during the early hours when Earth entered the fast flowing solar wind stream. Magnetic coupling between the solar wind and Earth's magnetic field boosted the effectiveness of the interaction, creating a strong magnetometer response and beautiful auroa.
