According to a recent Nasa article, sprites and elves (TLEs) on Jupiter would probably be blue or pink in color because the atmosphere is made mostly of Hydrogen. This theory is Pretty Cool so I decided to create an image of what sprites and elves would look like on Jupiter and compare it to what they look like here on Earth. Scientists believe that when Hydrogen molecules in Jupiter's atmosphere are excited by electrons, it will emit blue or pink, so that is why they think that the sprites and elves on Jupiter would most likely be blue or pink. Here on earth, however, the atmosphere is mostly nitrogen and when nitrogen molecules are excited by electrons, they will emit red. The Elve and Sprites seen in the Earth image are actual events that I have captured here in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.
