Description:
Comet C/2020 M3 (ATLAS) imaged on December 16, 2020 as it passed over the Milky Way in the constellation Auriga, with the open cluster NGC 1857 at the top left and below it the reddish trail of the emission nebula LBN 781. The comet is wrapped in a faint green coma and has a short tail of dust.
