Details:
What a night again in Utsjoki, Lapland! Just when the sky became dark enough before 5 PM local time, Auroras were revealed in the twilight sky. It didn't take long before we could capture some of the most incredible purple colour and it was huge!
In nearly a decade chasing the Aurora, I have only seen something like this a couple of times. Mind you, the purple colour itself was NOT visible to the naked eye. It appeared white. The green however was quite visible as a colour to the naked eye.
The display lasted for hours and is still probably going on, but it started snowing here.
At many points throughout the night, the northern lights were so strong that they spilled over to the southern sky and far beyond the southern horizon.
On my last picture, you can see here a "selfie" of myself in the middle of my live streaming setup, with the northern lights in the southern sky. What a joy to be able to share this with hundreds of people online while travelling is still impossible!
