Details:
The weather in Ohio in December is terrible for stargazing, but a couple of breaks in the clouds over the past two weeks have given us fleeting glimpses of the event as it drew tighter. Note the brilliant, and very red, variable star RT CAP at left, which appears to be near maximum brightness. Image processed three different ways. Nikon D780, Tamron 150-600, set to 400mm. 90 exposures, stacked additively.
