Details:
As Jupiter and Saturn converge to form an allusory " Christmas Star " a few days hence on the night of the Winter Solstice , the new crescent Moon made a cameo appearance on Decmber 16. I chose a rural ranchhouse for the foreground, six miles east of Cody Wyoming USA on Sage Creek. Nikon D5300 dslr with Nikkor 70-200mm ED zoom on tripod in stiff steady cold 35mph winds. Used the equivalent of 105mm focal length. Exposure using ISO 1600 at Daylight color setting, 2 secs. at f/5.6 Thin clouds provided a perfect scrim for the relatively bright crescent Moon. Happy first day of Saturnalia !
