Details:
In this image Comet 178P/Hug-Bell was magnitude 17.6 and 135 million miles from Earth. It had a short tail to the WNW of the nucleus. 178P was at perihelion in its 6.92 year orbit last July 16. It may brightened to magnitude 17 in December.
