Details:
Close-up photo of active region 2786 was taken this morning at 8:15 am (0:15UTC) with a 11" SCT fitted with an energy rejection filter and a Daystar Hydrogen-Alpha filter which collects red light emitted by Hydrogen atoms from the Sun's upper chromosphere. The sunspot, about 2 times the size of Earth, surrounded by immense fibrils shows that it has flare producing possibility. The intricate plasma waves are formed by magnetic fields surrounding the active region.
