Details:
On Tuesday 1st December, the moist north-westerly airflow associated with the recently arrived rainy season brought lunchtime outbreaks of heavy thundery rain to Mutare. The accompanying x60 speed video time-lapse shows how turbulence and then collapse in the centre of a dark pulsating storm cloud on the downwind side of a mountain produced an impressive cloudburst which dumped over 50 mm of rain in the affected area. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode.
