Details:
It has been exciting to, after years of quiet solar activity, to welcome back large sunspots to observe. AR2781 has been chugging along across the face of the Sun offering plenty of photo ops. This image was taken using a full-aperture AstroZap white light film solar filter, Vixen VC200L Cassegrain telescope, and an ASI178MC planetary camera. A "lucky shot" capture, this is a single image captured at a fortunate moment of relative atmospheric calm.
