Details:
Another direct hit tonight ... a lunar dew bow with Heiligenschein, a meteor, Mars and the faint Milky Way…
The dew bow is, so to speak, the lower continuation of the rainbow, which is projected onto a horizontal surface and occurs in sunlight and, as here, in moonlight on a field wetted with dew. You can also see a meteor at the top left, Mars next to it and the faint Milky Way on the right. In addition, the Heiligenschein, a brightening of light, can be seen around the shadow of my camera. When the Heiligenschein is formed, the rays of light hit a drop of dew and are "bundled" in it. The bundled light beam is reflected on the droplet background (blade of grass, leaf, earth) and most of the light is scattered in all directions.
