Details:
Swing up into the constellation Lepus and Getting closer now at 0.45 A.U., this comet is swinging just to the inside the orbit of Mars. The comet has an estimated period of 138.95 years according to JPL small-body database. Perihelion is on October 25, 2020 and nearest to us on November 14, 2020.
13th Magnitude galaxy UGCA 98 is in the bottom left of the field and approximately 54 million light years away from the Earth.
I placed the moon, taken with the same equipment and at the same scale for comparison.
Comet C/2020 M3 ATLAS should be quite interesting as it blasts up into Orion, Taurus and Auriga November and December. The comet will skirt past the stars Rigel, Bellatrix, El Nath and be less than a degree from Capella at the New Year!
