Details:
I went out to the Pottawatomie State Fishing Lake No. 1 in Pottawatomie County in NE Kansas on the evening of October 6th, in the hope of catching any Draconids that may have been bright enough to record. No meteors were recorded, but at ~ 8:25:32 pm, I observed two, 3rd to 4th magnitude Draconids simultaneously, one near Arcturus in Bootes and the other near Alphecca in Corona Borealis. This was a mere 32 seconds after the prediction of the first outburst by Jeremie Vaubaillon at 8:25 pm CDT (01:25 UT on the 7th). The first image recorded a sporadic meteor NE of Saturn, as well as some green and red airglow and the second, a substantial amount of homogeneous green airglow (with a bit of red). Each image is a 15 minute guided exposure with a 16 mm fisheye-NIKKOR @ f/3.4 with an all-sky camera loaded with Kodak Portra 120 film, 800, pushed two stops to ISO 3200.
