I call the bright tendril tips "Feet" because the sprite itself looks like some kind of alien creature with legs. This feature in a sprite event hasn't been documented yet and after checking my database I was only able to find three others that have this feature so I compiled all four of them into one image. Two of the events were just seven minutes apart. My best guess is that the electrons were only able to propagate downward to a certain point and they accumulated at that point, thus causing the tips of the tendrils to brighten. Would be great to find out why this occurred. I also included a red sprite I captured the same night of the sprite-halo with feet. In the link below is a video of the two Sony A7s sprite events and I also included a Bolt from the Blue that I recorded about one hour before the sprite halo event. All three events were observed on the night of Sept 28, 2020. https://vimeo.com/465169442
