Details:
Comet C/2020 M3 ATLAS rendezvous with the Fornax Galaxy cluster.
Image was taken on 2020 September 14 at 13:45UT. The comet appears at visual magnitude 10.6, sporting a rather large 6' coma but appearing quite diffuse. Current distance to Earth = 97 million kms.
The comet is performing better than predicted and might appear as bright as magnitude 8 when closest to Earth this November.
The Fornax galaxy cluster, located 62 million light years away, is dominated by elliptical giant NGC 1399 and the beautiful barred spiral NGC 1365.
