Details:
I took this a few nights ago. Its in constellation Scutum . 3 shots.
40 secs. 3200 ISO. 12.5" f/5. Baade coma corrector. modified T2i cannon full spectrum. Globular with a
planetary nebula. Whats interesting is how deep this globular cluster
is with-in the galactic plane. The mass amount of stars around it is
a dead give away. Typically globular clusters are outside the plane
of our galaxy. So the surrounding field doesn't have so many stars
around the cluster. Years ago I read a article they built a small
supercomputer at a university to figure out how these tight knit
globular star clusters stay together without the stars smashing
together, or blowing apart over time. They are composed of the oldest
stars in the universe.
