Details:
Solis Lucas, also known as 'The Eye of Mars' dominates the disk just left of center. It is a large dark circular feature which is often changing throughout the season. The South Polar cap shrunk a little as the summer is approaching on September 2nd. Luckily, the Martian atmosphere is free of haze and no dust clouds on this side of the surface. We all hope that it will stay free of haze throughout the apparition.
