Details:
The annual Perseid meteor shower is the highlight of my yearly astronomy events. It doesn't cease to amaze. I stationed myself, with my son David, on the roof of my apartment building at approximately 3:20AM, and stayed until 5:30AM. The sky was beautiful, showing a very bright Mars and Venus straddling a 54% moon. Two very bright fireballs flew through the sky at 4:32AM and 5:14AM. However, they were both to the south of my camera's field of view. Upon examining the photos, I came across one frame that appears to have captured a Perseid meteor just below Venus. Details: Canon EOS REBEL T5i camera, 4s exposure, f/3.5, ISO 400, Canon EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lense set at 20mm, manual focus, remote shutter release, GITZO tripod.
