Details:
Early this morning we see our moon in a waxing gibbous phase with an illumination of 99 percent. The full moon of August is known as the “Sturgeon Moon”, because this is the time of year that giant Sturgeons (fish) would be easily caught in the Great Lakes! This morning our moon took on a golden hue as it set.
