Details:
Although fading and shrinking rapidly , a calm clear night still makes Comet NEOWISE worth pursuing. Last night the Comet was in the viewfinder of my 70~210 zoom set to an equivalent of 285mm ( roughly 5.5X) when an early Perseid Meteor fireballed past it. I got off a lucky shot. Nikon D5300 dslr , 70~210 ED-G lens, exposed for 3 secs wide open at f/2.8 using ISO 6400. I was viewing from the RC model airport a few miles north of my town of Cody Wyoming. I note that Comet NEOWISE's head seems to be staying bright and is definitely very green , while the two tails have faded dramatically in the past ten days.
