Details:
A long exposure of the setting comet tail revealed a green horizontally textured glow across the sky. I saw in a series of exposures a wide formation of 'airglow', mostly green with hints of faint red. It spanned nearly half the northern horizon and I quickly obtained a wide angle panorama. Backing away from the camera, I could see the glow visually as a colorless slice of the sky highest at the Northern horizon, with a fairly sharp upper edge, glowing like a faint aurora.
