Details:
Ive been looking for Comet Neowise for the better part of the last two weeks. I got up a few times at 5:00 am and went and looked. From clouds to various other reasons I couldnt locate it in the mornings. Ive went out the past week at night and have spent roughly 10 hours or more searching for the comet that i have seen many others post about and I just couldnt find it. I went last night and after almost giving up, I located it. (I am typically very good with backyard astronomy so I dont know if the light conditions were wrong previously or what). I found it finally last night but the camera I was using, the battery was dead so I couldnt get photos last night. I went back out tonight and stayed out for two hours and couldnt get enough. Though I still really dont know how to use the camera I borrowed from my boss, I think the photos turned out okay. Its an older digital Canon Rebel and realize its not "professional" by any means, but it worked good for what I needed. Ive only seen four of five comets "live" in my 49 years and each one is very special to me. I am sure i will take more photos later but this is what I captured tonight.
