Details:
Early evening, perfectly clear. During 2-car drive (for safety) with Mike Larkin to dark sky site N of Topeka, cirrus clouds appear just above horizon stretching from NNW to WSW. We arrive and quickly set up at the Shawnee State Fishing Lake. We got a good look with binos, 6 and 8-inch reflectors, and then I shot seven guided images with the Canon Rebel XTi and a 135 mm NIKKOR lens @ f/4 and ISO 200. Exposures range from 4 to 30 seconds in these first four images at 9:46, 9:52, 9:54 and 9:56 pm local time, respectively.
