Details:
Last night Jupiter was at opposition. When Jupiter crosses the nodes at (or near) opposition date, an Earth transit in front of the Sun could be seen in that planet. This year Jupiter crossed the descending node on February 25th. Io's tiny shadow shows that there was not an Earth transit this year. The following Earth transit in front of the Sun will be until January 10th 2026. We will be able to witness it due to Calisto will cross the jovian disk without a shadow. On July 20th, Saturn will be at opposition. Due to this planet is near to a node, a hypothetical space tourist could see the Earth transit in front of the Sun!!!
