Details:
Following a beautiful display of crepuscular rays and shadows, I began searching for NEOWISE with a 7 x 50 binocular at 9:15 pm local time. By 9:35, I had not found it, and suspected it was hiding in a thin strip of clouds. Using the Canon Rebel XTi, I made a 2-second exposure at 9:36 (the second of these four images) with a 135 mm lens @ f/4 and ISO 100, and found it on the viewscreen, just below those clouds (see if you can find it). Tried the binocular and could just barely make it out, with a bit of tail. The last two images are both 6-second guided exposures with the same lens and settings at 9:44 and 9:45 pm, respectively. The comet was already sinking into the pollution when I first spotted it.
