Details:
1st time out, still with slightly greater than 1/4 illuminated moon. Tried some new cameras for time-lapse (see below), & tried a new star-tracking rig with multiple astrographs Drove up to Mt Wilson, to catch comet rising over hill line: Canon 5D2 on 610mm/6, 400mm/4, 300mm/2.8, 200mm/2.8 Canon T4i + 80-200 zoom to get comet+horizon shots Time-Lapse: Panasonic FZ2500 (1" sensor) zoomed to 35mm equivalent 155mm FL https://vimeo.com/437205240 Panasonic GH4 (Micro 4/3 sensor) + 45-150, @150 (35mm equivalent 300mm) https://vimeo.com/437219892 NOTE: uploaded images are unprocessed raws Comet was *barely* naked-eye to me, visually it had a large tail. Best comet since Hale-Bopp (1997), in terms of tail-length My location had 5 groups, every one doing photography & visual.
