Success at last! I've seen the comet! Foregoing photos yesterday (Jun 9), I took my wife to see it and pointed out which way to look. While I sought the binoculars she exclaimed, "I see it!" I turned around and--YES, there it was! Not brilliant but not needing averted vision any more either. Observing it for several days with the same clear weather from the same spot but only today definitely seeing it without aid, I can only conclude it's getting brighter. By the time we got back to the house, the sky was quite bright out with only Venus, Capella--and the comet's head!--still visible. Five minutes later only Venus was left, and we went back to bed to dream about comets.
The photo is from the day before (Jun 8), the same day I posted my timelapse of comet-rise. It shows the overall view from NE to E and captures the comet and also Venus in the Hyades with the Pleiades above them. The mountains on the right are in Zion National Park while the landscape is lit by a 90%-full waning Moon.
