Details:
My first sighting of NEOWISE from N. Ireland and my first proper naked eye comet since McNaught in 2007. The comet became visible with the naked eye at 01.00 and with a 2 degree naked eye tail even when the comet was 6 degrees over the ocean horizon. In the telescope the comet was yellow-gold with dark division in the tail and possible jets within the coma. I estimated mag +2, beautiful comet while an epic NLC display was on full show to the NE.
