Details:
Comet C/2019 U6 in the North West Australian sky the other night. It was not quite visible to my eyes at magnitude 6.0 ...but it was immediately visible to my cameras and showed up clearly in every shot with a mint-green coma and a faint, white tail. Unfortunately clouds were appearing in the sky as I arrived. By the time I had taken some images with different lenses, the comet was hidden for the rest of the session. I saw some meteors in the sky and I'd actually picked up a small, 2 inch long iron meteorite in 2014 - from the exact place I was standing when I took this photograph of Comet Lemmon a couple of nights ago. The bright yellow star Alpard can be seen toward the top of the image with an ice-glow halo - as it peeks through the winter clouds.
Shot with the Canon EOS Ra camera and the RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens.
