Details:
Observing Venus close to the sun is extremely dangerous as sunrays can easily burn expensive optics! instead of trying to shade the sun, i built using 3D printing a dedicated setup on which i removed anything that could burn! the telescope tube is replaced by a metal bar, and the sun is focused on a glass prism that reflect the dangerous sunlight away from the camera. this allowed me to observe Venus very close to the sun today, at only 36arcmin from the sun limb! unfortunately, high clouds prevented observing venus even closer from the sun later on the day Yet, i am very happy that the time dedicated to this paid off and i was able to capture the full Venus ring safely !
