This was taken with a Canon 7D using a lifeguard tower at Ventura state beach as a "tripod". 85MM portrait lens at f1.8, 1/8 ISO 400.
I did not expect to be able to capture the moon since it was only 11 hours old but was thrilled when I saw it in the haze.
