Details:
Using inexpensive equipment, an obsolete iPhone 5s, and a $40 Baruska 10-30 x 50mm spotting scope, I captured the contrasting phases of huge crescent Venus and tiny gibbous Mercury in the same field of view.
First shot was with just the smartphone, mounted on a Landove adapter to the tripod.
Second shot is through the Baraska at 30X, showing the thin crescent.
Last shot shows tiny gibbous Mercury to lower left of Venus as twilight fell.
